Ulysses S. Grant and Washington, D.C. have a long history. There are far too many Grant sites in the district to even summarize, considering he spent eight years living there as president, but the most relevant spot to mention is the James Madison Memorial Building of the Library of Congress, where all of his surviving love letters are kept under lock and key.
